Such a trait would be super helpful if you’re someone who needs a gentle reminder when it comes to birthdays, what to buy for dinner, and where you put your car keys. The biscuit definitely wasn't equipped to act as a sandwich, and broke up quite a bit. The chicken was nice and crispy but should have been cooked in new oil, and should have been seasoned. I got the chicken biscuits, which didn't really have any flavor other than that of old grease. The food staff was friendly when they brought our food out though. The extent to which we received service was basically only when our food was brought out or if we left our table to request assistance. If you prefer to have human interaction from staff, maybe not so much. If that is what you like, then this place would work for you. Essentially this was a very independent dining experience. Nobody came to check on us to see if we were okay, how our food/drinks were or if we needed anything. Nobody greeted us, seated us, or explained the ordering process. We seated ourselves and ordered by the QR code on the table. Definitely gave a welcoming vibe upon arrival. Lack of courtesy for patrons, and shame on management for letting it happen.Ĭame on a Sunday afternoon, and the vibe was great as far as the aesthetic and music. I suppose it’s acceptable, if you like second hand hookah smoke getting blown in your face. He hovered over the area where you pay your cover, and smoked hookah at that counter. It rained that weekend and we noticed cars getting stuck in the mud when they parked in nearby grassy areas, I suppose trying to avoid being forced into valet.įinally, I’d like to mention that the bouncer was super unprofessional. I’m not sure how much it was, but my guess is it was over priced. There’s no where to park! You must park valet. That is, most of the parking (in the entire business park) were sectioned off with cones, and partitioned off for obligatory valet service. Neither the bar, nor the cover provided an itemized bill (I’d post it here if they did).Īdditionally, we arrived early, (around 1030), but fewer than 10% of parking spaces were non-valet. I was also concerned about the 10% charge on top if your cover. So 2 cranberry vodkas that’s $8 to $10 somewhere else can cost you about $20 (after tip). When I asked why, the bartender said that it was for all orders (whether you use cash or use credit/debit). This place adds a 20% “service fee” for all drinks. Overall, I spent $28 for two regular nachos and two bottled beers. Beer is a little on the pricey side for non craft beer. ![]() ![]() Unfortunately they were out of draft, but both bottles of Bohemia I ordered were underwhelmingly warm. Definitely order the regular if you’re trying to snack or as an appetizer. Even then, the cheese and beans were only on the top chips, leaving a naked bottom layer of tortilla chips. I went with the regular because I expected the large be way too much (mama margie’s style), but the regular was just not enough for a meal. The food is tasty too! My nachos tasted stellar. ![]() There are options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. There is outdoor, indoor and balcony seating. It was a hot weekday at 3 PM, so it was a little quiet, but picturing this place on a nice summer evening, I can only imagine the ambiance. Not gonna lie, I was expecting a little bit more from Sancho’s. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Beatles monopoly game piecesThey are dug in, and they can see the enemy coming. They know the streets, the high-rise buildings, also the tunnels. And in this type of fight, defenders oftentimes have the upper hand. Israeli officials say this war will be long and difficult. MARTÍNEZ: And, Tom, this massive ground invasion that we keep hearing is going to happen - what have you heard about when it might happen? I mean, is that still possible at this point?īOWMAN: No, most likely, you know, larger numbers of troops would move in maybe to secure the area, search buildings. Since the start of the war in Gaza, 29 reporters have been killed. ![]() This comes after the family of another Al Jazeera reporter was killed in an Israeli airstrike. But what's troubling is the Arabic network, Al Jazeera, says the family of one of its reporters was told to flee by the Israelis. Now, NPR is lucky to have some very brave producers on the ground in Gaza. They're not taking press along and only releasing very limited information about its attacks. The Israelis apparently see it differently. Now, the Marine Urban Warfare Manual says it's, quote, "desirable" to have media with them on these urban operations as long as they don't disclose future operations, which is kind of standard. He said the Israeli foothold will only expand and multiply using overwhelming firepower from tanks, attack helicopters, other arms. Now the number is 240, with as many as 10 Americans among them. The Israelis have said there are even more hostages than they initially thought. forces in the Middle East, and he said the objectives would likely be Hamas command posts, ammunition dumps and, of course, the hostages who are likely being kept in that web of tunnels. So, Tom, what have you heard about what Israel's objectives are?īOWMAN: Well, I spoke with retired Marine General Frank McKenzie about all that. MARTÍNEZ: Now, Israel claimed it's making targeted strikes on Hamas in Gaza, but it's unclear what their strategy is. You want to isolate your enemy and then move on to your objectives. Also, we've seen the bulldozers to clear away debris. And that manual kind of mirrors, again, what we've seen so far in Gaza - the element of surprise, so you roll in at night as they did, special assault teams with tanks and combat engineers to destroy obstacles or booby traps. Since General Glynn was in the mix, I thumbed through the Marines' manual - it's called Military Operations in Urbanized Terrain - over the weekend - little light reading. MARTÍNEZ: So what does Israel's strategy, what we've seen so far of it, compare to past examples of urban warfare?īOWMAN: Well, it does kind of mirror past examples. And, of course, the Israelis got some advice from an American Marine, Lieutenant General Jim Glynn, who's well acquainted with urban warfare from his days in Iraq. They grabbed a foothold, then moved on from there. We've seen the Israeli videos of all of this. The Israelis first mounted, of course, massive air and missile strikes, then moved into Gaza with small numbers of infantry troops supported by tanks and bulldozers. TOM BOWMAN, BYLINE: Well, you know, at this point it looks more surgical. ![]() ![]() Doesn't look like a full-scale invasion, so what would it be then? What is it? Tom, we've seen some tanks moving into Gaza. For more on this, we're joined by Pentagon correspondent Tom Bowman. MARTÍNEZ: But some clues may actually lie in U.S. Meanwhile, the overall strategy of this war or how the expanding operation will unfold is still unclear. Entire neighborhood blocks have been reduced to rubble, and people are trapped with no way out. Some 70% of the dead are women and children, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. That will not happen.įADEL: In Gaza, more than 8,300 people have been killed. PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU: Calls for a cease-fire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terrorism. Here's Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking to the foreign press. Yeah, there's no sign the bombardments, in response to a Hamas attack that killed at least 1,400 people in Israel and saw fighters take upward of 200 hostages, will end anytime soon. Despite international calls for a humanitarian pause, Israel has been bombing Gaza for 24 days straight now, and the assault is intensifying. 11/21/2023 0 Comments Attrition vs turnover![]() According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 1.7 million people quit their healthcare jobs in the first half of 2022 alone. Three years into the pandemic, industry-specific burnout still looms large in some sectors, namely healthcare and education. Burnout is one of several factors that likely contributed to this. Cross-industry mobility is high Research by McKinsey found that, among workers who quit their jobs between 20, 48% moved to a different industry. Piers Hudson, senior director of Gartner HR, explains: “Leaders’ efforts to restore the organization’s ‘normal’, pre-pandemic way of working are clashing with a workforce that has largely normalized working in a hybrid environment.” Although it’s still too early to tell how this tension will impact employee turnover rates in the long term, it may explain some industry-specific turnover, particularly in sectors where remote work has become the norm. This is true despite the fact that, according to analysis by ADP Research Institute, 64% of the global workforce has already quit, or would consider doing so, if they were required to return to the office full-time. On top of that, 68% of employees who could work remotely have been required to return to the office in some capacity. ![]() Gartner found that 70% of employees believe remote workers get paid less and are less likely to be promoted than their on-site counterparts. But this uptick in remote work arrangements comes with a certain level of friction. ![]() Flexible and remote work opportunities increased, but not everything went smoothly The rate of remote work rose to 26% of all employees in 2022, which is a record high. Although each industry has experienced its own employee turnover pains over the past few years, there are some cornerstone issues which seem to have influenced turnover rates across the board. ![]()

While a level of weighty sludge is always to be expected from Alice In Chains, Rainier Fog brings back Cantrell's appetite for enormodome guitars that soar over the muck to remind the world that there is more to AIC than low-end dirges. ![]() If The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here was the band dipping their toes into the past, Rainier Fog sees them fully reckoning with that past while maintaining the perspective that inherently comes with the passage of time. Recording in Seattle for the first time since 1995, Alice In Chains' Rainier Fog is as much a meditation on their unlikely status as rock'n'roll survivors as it is the band embracing the fullness of their sound. Their first release, 2009's Black Gives Way To Blue was the kind of triumphant comeback rock legends are made of and the band's subsequent activity – tours, albums, celebrations – has ensured their legacy has not just remained in tact, but actively grown in the decade-plus since their return. Layne Staley's tragic death in 2002 crushed any hopes that the band's original incarnation would ever come back, but sporadic reunion shows from 2005 to 2008 ultimately gave way to a new incarnation of Alice In Chains with new vocalist William DuVall. Slipping just a little glam flair into their sound helped AIC become one of the first major grunge success stories – their 1990 debut Facelift was the first of any 90s Seattle band to go Gold in the US – and the band enjoyed enormous commercial appeal across the decade. For while their sludgy riffs and dour demeanour were worlds away from the glamour of the Sunset Strip, Alice In Chains never particularly hid their love for metal and could often be found on bills alongside everyone from Slayer and Megadeth (where they opened the legendary Clash Of The Titans bill) to Ozzy Osbourne. Nonetheless, Staley's time in Alice N' Chainz brought to him to the attention of Jerry Cantrell and in time the pair would team up for an entirely different kind of band. 11/20/2023 0 Comments Starfall calendar february 2021Select a calendar template below to download or print for free in PDF, Excel, or Microsoft Word format.
